East Windsor wraps around Hightstown and is defined by the roads that cross it. Turnpike interchange 8 sits here, Route 130 runs the length of the township as a commercial corridor, Route 33 crosses it, and Route 571 comes through from the Princeton direction. Add the townhouse and garden-apartment communities, Twin Rivers most obviously, and you have a township where a lot of people park in shared courts and lots and then drive straight onto a road carrying freight. That is a combination that produces both kinds of glass damage: highway chips and parking-lot side glass.
The drive to us is eight miles: 539 out of Hightstown and south through the fields, about fifteen minutes and no complicated navigation. Twin Rivers and the other townhouse developments park in shared courts, so cars stand outdoors in tight rows without garages and are shuffled between spaces by residents rather than parked in the same place every night.

Interchange 8 traffic, first. Trucks leaving the Turnpike carry stone in the tread and shed it in the first mile or two, which lands squarely on the East Windsor stretches of Route 33 and Route 130. Second is the stop-start character of the 130 corridor itself, where hard braking behind a truck at a light is both the most likely moment for a stone strike and the worst kind of load on glass that already has a chip in it. Third is shared-court parking, where door glass and mirrors take knocks from vehicles manoeuvring in tight bays and where a car parked in a different space every night is a soft target overnight. Fourth is winter salt and slush thrown off the highway corridors.
Route 539 south, which you pick up through Hightstown. Once you are past the borough it is open two-lane road through the fields for six miles into Allentown, and the shop is at 162 County Rd 539. Fifteen minutes door to door from most of the township. From the western side, near Old Trenton Road, it is often quicker to run down Route 130 to Route 526 and come east into Allentown that way.
